Sirrus is a crop optimization agronomic solution tool built on a fully geospatial foundation for crop advisors and growers. The Sirrus platform is comprised of a web interface and an in-field mobile app.

If you’re reading this article, then by now you have created an agX account and received your unique sync ID. The online portal allows users to access, view, import and export data layers.

Sirrus Web also has the capabilities to generate recommendations using FarmRite, create planting jobs, export recommendations, and manage your Growers, Farms, and Fields.

Sirrus Web: Overview

In the top right corner of the landing page you can access a dropdown menu. In this dropdown, you can see the sync ID associated with the account you're logged into. If your business is setup with multi-user, the ability to navigate between these accounts are here.

In the settings you can select the region and language you want to use, as well as change the measurement system (Imperial & Metric), and the default nutrient profile to use in your activities and data collection.

The Sync Progress button provides visibility into how the data associated with your sync ID is progressing through the sync process. The Manage Account button gives you a quick link to the agX site where you can update your user profile, add, and manage connections.

To access and configure your wireless data transfer select Wireless Connections Hub. Here you can manage the different controllers and end points for your data.

The Season dropdown allows you to navigate from Season to Season and to access the historical data layers that were collected for a given year or look to the future and plan with your growers. The Grower dropdown will show all growers you have available to view and manage under your sync ID.

Understanding the Icons

Down the left side of the screen the icons displayed here will take you to the differing areas of Sirrus.

Jobs Icon

Starting at the top, the Jobs icon will display all the Farms and Fields for the Grower you have selected to view. The jobs tab shows you which Farms and Fields have had jobs created for them.

You can also filter the job results a couple of different ways. One way you can filter is by date range, this will show you all the fields that have assigned jobs for the range of dates you have selected. The job type filter allows you to zero in on specific job types you are interested in viewing.

For example, to view the planting jobs for a given Grower, simply check the planting box and all planting jobs regardless of the farm will be displayed.

Other filtering options under job type are Crop and Job state.

Maps in Web

The Maps icon will bring up the Farms and Fields for the grower you have selected to view. Here you can navigate between your Growers, Farms and select the Field you would like to work with.

With the Field selected you can access the Jobs or activities that have been recorded against the Field, the As-Applied tab will display the different applications that have been made on the field for the current and previous seasons.

Under the Yield dropdown, you can view the historical yield data for a selected Field. With the harvest event displayed, on the right of your screen you can see the yield breakdown as well as the Yield editor tool.

Under the Soil tab, importing soil test results can be completed with a Modus (xml) file type. The development team are actively working to bring online additional supported file types. Previous seasons soil results and collection points can also be viewed.

FarmRite Icon

The FarmRite icon is where you can access the proprietary recommendation generating tool for your Growers Fields. Using the data that has been collected for a Field, such as yield data, soil data, etc. FarmRite has the capabilities to chew through mountains of data to generate an agronomic recommendation that you and your growers can utilize to maximize efficiency for input application and improve the profitability of their operation.

Setup Icon

The Setup interface is where you can access and manage the Grower, Farms and Field structure for your customers. Here you can add new Fields to Farms and Growers.

Another feature available in the Setup icon is editing existing field boundaries, splitting fields and importing field boundary shapefiles. Click here to learn more about adding & editing field boundaries in Sirrus Web.

Import Icon

Here you will be able to Import Yield and As-Applied data as file based imports. Under the Import icon you will also have the ability to manage the imported data, assign it to fields and troubleshoot any issues that may have occurred during the data transfer.

On the left side of the screen, under Activity, you can view your Upload History and view the Import Activity for your sync ID. The Settings button allows you to change the default settings of what happens to the imported data and the nutrient profile assigned for your account.

Exports

As you could have guessed the Export icon is where you can view the data that has been exported from your Sirrus account. You will be able to see the activity or recommendation, date the export was created and what the export type was (Shapefile or MyJohnDeere).

In the next articles we will cover more in depth the sections above as well as some key concepts important for you to understand in order to get the most out of Sirrus Web and Sirrus Mobile.

We hope you have enjoyed this introduction to the web platform and if you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact us.
