Importing Yield or As-Applied Data
Currently within Sirrus Web you can import yield data from harvest (current season or from previous seasons), as well as As-Applied data for your planting and crop input applications. Begin by signing in to your Sirrus Web account with your agX credentials, then click the Import button in the left taskbar.
After tapping the Import icon, you will notice the Browse button near the top of the next screen, click Browse to move into the file explorer and navigate to the file you wish to import.
Note: All data you wish to upload must be included in a zipped file for the import tool to recognize it. If no file is shown, check that the file is indeed zipped within your file explorer.
Next, you will have the option to assign a Grower Tag. Assigning Grower Tag is optional because if no tag is assigned, the data will automatically tie spatially wherever it belongs in the world. If a Grower Tag is assigned, it will limit data to only be assigned within the Grower. We recommend users leave the Grower Tags off, but it is personal preference.
Lastly, you will be required to give the Upload a name. This name has no significance but can be used to sort through specific monitors, tractors, combines, growers, etc.
For example, a user might name their upload “Joe Smith GS3” to differentiate from the next upload which would be “Joe Smith GS4” if two monitors were in use.
You may now click Upload to begin uploading the file to your agX account. Be sure not to close the browser as the prompt states. Once the upload status reaches 100%, Technical Support will be able to see the status of your upload if there are any issues that arise.
Upload History
After the file is uploaded, you will be able to see the status of the upload in the Activity > Upload History area. Files will have a Processing status until they are imported into your account or thrown into the Import Issues area to manage exceptions.
Files that have been processing for three hours or more may be held up. Files stuck in processing for 24 hours or more are not actively trying to process anymore. To troubleshoot issues, contact Technical Support.
Files with data present to be imported will have the upload history status of Valid Data Found once processed.
Managing your Imported Yield and As-Applied
When the uploaded file has importable data denoted by the Valid Data Found status in Upload History, more than likely you will need to manage this imported data to some extent.
In the left taskbar click on Import Issues, this will be denoted with an orange exclamation point if there are exceptions to manage. If there are no exceptions to be managed, the data will show up in your account once a sync has completed.
If the file you have uploaded contains data for a new field that does not currently have a boundary, you will be able to manually create the boundary or import a Shapefile within the Field Assignment area. Once the boundary is assigned to the data, you will have the option to include all observations, split the observations or only include observations within the boundary.
When the Field Assignments have been made (if necessary) data will then move to Crop (for Yield data) or Input (for As-Applied data) Assignment to verify the crop or product within the operation.
If no assignments are needed here, Yield data will now be imported. If assignments are made, As-Applied data may also need management within the Season Assignment. There is also a possibility with As-Applied data that Input Assignments may not be needed but Season Assignments are, be prepared to check every tab within Import Issues if your data has not imported although you think it should have.
Import Activity
Not sure where your data is? You are always able to check the Import Activity within the Activity area on the left taskbar. Import Activity will show the date that a data layer was created or edited based on Sync ID, Grower/Farm/Field name, season and data type.
If you do not see the data you are looking for on this page, chances are that there is still some exceptions to manage or the imported file did not successfully process. Reach out to the Technical Support team if you experience any issues like this.
