Importing Soil Sample Results
A newly released feature is the ability for a user to import soil test results (lab results) for a field directly into Sirrus web.
Editor's Note: Currently only MODUS (xml) file types are available for import. Work with the lab to find out if the soil results can be formatted and shared in this file type.
The first step to importing soil results into Sirrus web is to have sampling points aligned to the field for the resulting data to be matched to. There are two ways to apply sampling points to a field:
Option 1: The sample points can be imported into web via shapefile. Use the (+) next to the Grower dropdown to import the sampling points and assign it to a field.
Option 2: In Sirrus mobile, navigate to the field in your account and create a soil sampling activity. To learn more about creating a sampling activity in Sirrus Mobile, check out the articles in the Help Center on Grid and Zone Soil Sampling activities.
With the sampling points imported or created, click the Maps icon and select the Soil tab on the left side of your screen. Select the sampling job for the field that corresponds to the results that need to be imported.
With the points overlaid onto the field, click the Import button to open your desktop's file explorer. (Below is the Import button in Sirrus Web, located under the Soil tab)
Locate the lab results file and click Open.
The file will be imported and results will be aligned to their corresponding points.
You're now ready to use the imported soil data to create FarmRite orders, surface layers, recommendations and a number of other jobs within Sirrus leveraging the field level soil data.
